Responsibilities
● Providing risk oversight for the firm's trading activities, with a primary focus on electronic trading and market risk
● Assisting the Regional Head of Risk and the wider team in overseeing day-to-day trading operations to ensure risks associated with the production trading environment are appropriately controlled and that issues are identified, escalated, and resolved promptly
● Monitoring and controlling electronic trading and market risks across trading strategies in real time, escalating, reporting, and helping to resolve risk-related issues in a timely manner
● Designing, maintaining, and reviewing risk limit frameworks, as well as stress-testing and scenario analysis frameworks, including market dislocations and correlation shifts
● Working closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Core Engineering, Business Management, and Operations teams to respond effectively to and resolve trading-related risk issues
● Providing risk governance across trade lifecycle events, new projects, and initiatives, ensuring material risks are identified, quantified, appropriately escalated, and effectively mitigated
● Assisting Risk Management and Risk Technology teams in enhancing electronic trading risk controls, including improvements to control design, monitoring, alerting, and automation
● Conducting ad hoc risk, stress, and margin analyses, including regular back-testing, to support limit governance, escalation processes, and senior risk forums
Requirements
● Strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, or a related quantitative discipline; a quantitative master’s degree is highly regarded
● 2 to 5 years of experience in an electronic trading risk role, gained within a sell-side, buy-side, quantitative proprietary trading, or digital assets environment
● Demonstrated ability to apply sound risk judgement to complex portfolios and to challenge trading assumptions constructively and credibly
● Experience collaborating with trading, business management, compliance, and technology teams in highly automated, electronically driven trading environments
● Solid Python and SQL/database proficiency, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
● Desire to continuously learn and proactively challenge the status quo
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
